What made Tutankhamen so famous?

King Tut is most well known for his well hidden tomb, which was found on November 4, 1922 by British archaeologists Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon.

Howard Carter

Tutankhamen's tomb was located in the Valley of Kings at Thebes, the traditional burial place.

In Tutankhamen's tomb they found over 3,000 treasures. They also found that the walls were painted with scenes of his voyage to the afterworld.

The entrance to Tutankhamun's tomb was found 3.9 metres below the tomb of Ramses VI (Pharaoh), which was built after Tutankhamun’s.

King Tut's tomb had been hidden for 3000 years before being found. Howard Carter spent 31 years trying to find Tutankhamens tomb.
